Reset Webmail/Admin Access Restrictions

Reset Webmail Access Restrictions

You can follow the steps below to clear the Webmail access restrictions so that any IP address can access the Webmail facility.

If you intended to have restrictions on Webmail cccess then you will need to set them again, being careful not to block access from your normal administration computer(s).

VPOP3 version 5 or later

  1. Download the file below, and put it into the main VPOP3 directory
  2. Stop the VPOP3 service
  3. Run the batch file you downloaded to clear the Webmail access restrictions (this batch file assumes the default folder structure and database login details)
  4. Restart VPOP3

VPOP3 v3 or v4

  1. Stop the VPOP3 service
  2. Go to Start → Programs → VPOP3 → VPOP3 Emergency Settings
  3. Go to the Webmail tab, and clear the 'Access Restrictions area' box, and press OK

Reset Admin Area Access Restrictions

You can follow the steps below to clear the administration area access restrictions so that any IP address which can access Webmail can access the administration area as well.

If you intended to have restrictions on the administration area then you will need to set them again, being careful not to block access from your normal administration computer(s).

VPOP3 version 5 or later

  1. Download the file below, and put it into the main VPOP3 directory
  2. Stop the VPOP3 service
  3. Run the batch file you downloaded to clear the administration area access restrictions (this batch file assumes the default folder structure and database login details)
  4. Restart VPOP3

VPOP3 v3 or v4

  1. Stop the VPOP3 service
  2. Go to Start → Programs → VPOP3 → VPOP3 Emergency Settings
  3. Go to the Webmail tab, and clear the 'Admin area' box, and press OK
