Which versions of Windows will VPOP3 run on?
Version 3.x
VPOP3 version 3 requires Windows 2000 or later. It should run on both 32 bit and 64 bit Windows.
It has been tested on:
- Windows 2000 32 bit (Professional & Server)
- Windows XP, 32 bit & 64 bit (Professional & Home)
- Windows 2003 Server, 32 bit & 64 bit
- Windows Vista, 32 bit & 64 bit (Business & Ultimate)
- Windows 2008 Server, 32 bit & 64 bit
- Windows 7 RC, 32 bit
NB - just because a version of Windows is not listed above does not mean it will not work on it, just that it hasn't been tested on it. It should work on any 32 or 64 bit version of Windows, from Windows 2000 or later
Version 2.x
VPOP3 version 2 runs on Windows NT4 and Windows 95 and later. It should run on both 32 bit and 64 bit Windows.
Version 1.x
VPOP3 version 1 runs on Windows NT4 and Windows 95 and to Windows Vista/Windows 2003. It will not run as a service on Windows Vista or Windows 2008 or later.
VPOP3 version 1 cannot be administered using Remote Desktop/Terminal Server.
