Which Ports does VPOP3 use?

If you want to use VPOP3 through a firewall, you will need to open up some TCP ports in the firewall.

VPOP3 uses several ports, for the different services it provides. The best way to see the ports it uses is to go to Services

GDPR for VPOP3 self-hosted software

VPOP3 is an email server program, it is not a service, so if you use VPOP3 on your own computer we are not a “data controller” or a “data processor” under GDPR rules as we never see any of your data (unless you give us permission to remotely connect to your PC for technical support purposes).

Windows Server Port Conflicts

LDAP Server Conflict

When you run VPOP3 on a server edition of Windows you may receive an error saying

LDAP server not started - couldn't bind socket port 389 (10048)

This error happens because VPOP3 contains an LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) server for its global address book functionality, and the Windows 2000/2003 'Active Directory Service' also uses LDAP as its mechanism. These two services are conflicting.
